24 Wednesday June, 2020 ## CHEMISTRY ENTRANCE TESTGREENFORD HIGH SCHOOL MAIN HALL 09.45 The Chemistry entrance test is a 25 mark multiple choice paper. It is made up of three distinct sections. The first covers the topics taught as part of the GCSE course – mainly focusing on the core elements of Chemistry in C2 of the AQA specification. The second section is a Maths skills section, testing students aptitude in the basic Maths skills they will need at A Level. The final section is an application of understanding section whereby students will be given new concepts and information and be expected to use them to determine the correct answer. The Maths entrance exam will be mostly based on GCSE Algebra, with a few questions from other related GCSE Maths topics. It will be a non-calculator test, lasting 45 minutes, and no equipment will be needed other than a pen or pencil. The pass mark isn’t yet set, but a score of 75% should be enough to be accepted onto the course.
